We at Parkfield Youth FC are shocked to hear of the passing of Trevor Hutton the Chairman and co-founder of AFC Wembley FC. Trevor and his partner Abdi Farah had put a lot of time and effort into creating a youth football club which started life in Vale farm Sudbury, the two are responsible for working tirelessly within the Brent community to build a very respected football club that will no doubt be in as much shock as we are after hearing the terrible news. The executive committee and all at Parkfield would like to send our condolences to Trevor’s family and friends. The club will send representatives to the funeral.
R.I.P. Trevor Hutton
The final game of the season and a victory required to become Premier League champions. The mood amongst the assembled parents, friends and family members was of nervous tension especially after our midweek defeat to St Andrews. The boys didn’t seem to be affected though as they started the game in dramatic fashion. In the first minute Ben B chased down a back pass and was rewarded as he diverted the keepers clearance into the net. A minute later and the lead was doubled as Ben T slotted home after a goalmouth scramble. Just 10 mins in and Ellis made it 3-0 with a lovely curling shot from outside the area. Brunswick didn’t just give up though and they fought their way back into the game. They pegged us back in our half for a while and were rewarded when the tricky no. 7 shot against the bar and the rebound was nicely finished. 3-1 at HT. The next goal was always going to be crucial and it came 15 mins into the 2nd half when Ben B rounded the keeper and his cross/shot was bundled into his own net by a defender. Luke then pulled off a fine full length save to again deny the no. 7 and moments later the title was all but secured when Ben B latched on to Dan T’s through ball to fire home. Ben B then secured his hat trick and 45th goal of a fantastic season when he headed home from Dan T’s corner. The final whistle was met with a rather low key celebration that didn’t really befit the excellent achievement of winning a very tough league. A big well done to all the boys and Darren and Mark for all their dedication and hard work in what has been a long and tough season. Also thank you to all the parents for their fantastic support throughout the season.
If you are looking for your child to take part in a soccer school feel free to come along on Saturday morning. This is a great way for children to start playing football and many of the players that join the Parkfield teams start off at the soccer school.
